The Majestic Tree Hound is a hybrid breed of the Coonhound and the Bloodhound. When these two breeds are mixed together, they yield the beautiful and magnificent Majestic Tree Hound. This breed is considered to be healthy and hardy, but it is important to work with a reputable breeder to ensure the health of your pup.

While no major health concerns are known to this breed, that does not mean they are free from all diseases and conditions. In fact, you still need to keep an eye out for ear infections, bloat, hip dysplasia, obesity, and cancer.

Ear infections are very common in pups that have floppy ears. Since your Majestic Tree Hound will have floppy ears, you need to make sure that you take the necessary precautions to prevent an ear infection.

You should clean your pup’s ears once per week to remove any buildup of earwax and dirt. You do not want to stick any objects into the ear, but merely wipe the inside out. If your pup does develop an ear infection, your veterinarian may prescribe antibiotics to cure it up.

Hip dysplasia occurs when the hip joint is deformed or when it does not fit into the socket correctly. This is a painful problem for your pup and may hinder the use of his or her limbs.

You will need to clean out your pup’s ears once per week to ensure there is no buildup of wax and debris. As mentioned above, this breed is susceptible to ear infections, so you should check their ears often and clean them when you need to.

Lastly, you will need to trim your pup’s nails to prevent them from growing too long. If you are afraid to cut his or her nails on your own, you can take your pup to the groomer.

Diet

The Majestic Tree Hound will consume four to five cups of food per day. It is important to make sure that you choose a high-quality brand of dog food that does not contain chemicals and fillers.
